We’re visiting with Edward Bielski today.
We purchased our unbuilt home in 2021 in a new subdivision in Roseville, California. We started with a blank canvas and, using the pool as a focal point, created a series of outdoor rooms with our favorite plant species. After nearly a quarter of a century, this is what it looks like today. I am now retired and have a wonderful gardener to do the heavy lifting and keep it looking fresh at the different seasons throughout the year

Tulips along the front walkway in full spring bloom
Callas (Zantedeschia aethiopica, Zones 7–10) are standing tall by the koi pond. These beautiful flowers can grow in regular garden soil or in shallow water or bog conditions.

Waterlilies (Nymphaea hybrids, Zones 5–10) are showing off in the water garden.
Autumn leaves provide a contrast to evergreen ground covers.
