HOW TO USE

Each nutrient makes 500 ml of concentrate.The nutrient is 100% Water-Soluble, just dissolve it in water (less than 500 ml) and store it in a bottle.For General Use add 1 ml of concentrate solution per litre of water.

REASONS FOR INADEQUATE GROWTH – TEMPERATURE

Cause: Ambient temperature too high (beyond 27℃); The growth rate is affected by high temperatures in the plant’s surroundings.

Remedy: Transfer your Hydroponics system from a hot region to a cooler surrounding. If transferring the system is not feasible, the temperature can be brought down temporarily by introducing ice cubes into the system.

REASONS FOR INADEQUATE GROWTH – pH

pH indicates the acidity of the water. Hydroponics Systems demand a slightly acidic medium for the healthy growth of plants.

Cause: pH of the water is never constant, it keeps fluctuating due to multiple reasons. A higher pH, above 6.5 (i.e. the water is basic) prevents plants from absorbing the nutrients present in the water, hence, they eventually starve and die.

Remedy: You can use pH stipes or pH meter or Katyayani pH Down to bring down the pH of your system. Katyayani pH Down is available for purchase. For smaller systems just use a pH paper strip (Litmus paper) to measure the pH level of water. For too basic water- add Katyayani pH Down accordingly (or some household acidic product like a lemon / vinegar) to restore the pH of water to desired range.

REASONS FOR INADEQUATE GROWTH – NUTRIENT LEVEL – EC

Electrical Conductivity (EC) is the measure of nutrients available in the water. Some terms used in this context are PPM (parts per million) and TDS.

Cause: As plants absorb the nutrients in the water, the EC fluctuates. A constant EC ensures the healthy growth of the plants. To maintain EC constant, keep adding nutrients into the water as the plant grows. In case of low EC the plants start exhibiting the symptoms of decay and eventually starve. Higher EC can burn your plants.

Remedy: Adhere to the User Manual to maintain the desired levels of EC specific to plants.
