38000 Bloomsdale Long Standing Spinach Seeds. Non GMO and Heirloom. 1 pound of seeds. 35-50 days. Bloomsdale Long Standing Spinach Seeds. Spinacia oleracea. Non-GMO. Open Pollinated. Bloomsdale Spinach seeds came from Philadelphia in the late 19th century by D. Landreth & Sons Seed Company. The crisp dark-green leaves of this spreading plant are broad, fast-maturing and monoecious. As a hardy crop, this heavily-savoyed spinach tolerates heat better than others. Organic Bloomsdale Long Standing Spinach provides bright flavor with tender leaves, as this annual is a popular variety to plant in your garden to either juice, sautee, bake or eat fresh! Spinach is a cool weather favorite able to be sown in early spring, late summer, or winters in warm enough regions. Spinach can be started indoors 4-6 weeks prior to final spring frost but, for best starts, sow directly outdoors 5-6 weeks prior to final spring frost. Plant 2-3 Bloomsdale seeds 1/2″ deep, 4″ apart in fertile, composted, well-drained soil with a pH of 6.5-7.0. Spinach seeds germinate in 7-21 days, thinning best starts every 6-12″ in the garden as true leaves establish. Harvest large outer leaves often to boost production while allowing smaller leaves to continue to mature. Avoid nitrogen-rich fertilizers known to spoil spinach flavor. Spinach is one of the most productive and popular cut and come again varieties in the home garden and takes only days for regrowth.
Great for growing spinach in the garden or baby greens or spinach sprouts
