Canaveral National Seashore in Florida is planning to increase camping fees as well as the cost to attend a nighttime sea turtle program and is seeking public comments on the proposals.

As proposed, the increases would take effect May 1.

The funds we collect are essential to an investment in services and improvements that are necessary to serve the hundreds of visitors that take advantage of these programs each year.”

While Canaveral has long charged a fee for the nighttime Turtle Watches, the tickets are now being offered on recreation.gov. The Sea Turtle Watch takes place in both districts of the seashore (Titusville and New Smyrna Beach), beginning at 8 p.m..
