More than eight years ago, a mountain biking video changed the game for extreme sports. The film called unReal features mountain biker Brandon Semenuk. Long before drones became standard use in outdoor sports, this video filmed an entire segment of riding in a single continuous shot. The result is argued to be one of the best mountain bike videos ever.
Here’s a small clip of the film that social media cannot seem to stop sharing:
Semenuk rides effortlessly through a wild course on a bright green hill in the video. The video is equal parts awesome and calming. The soundtrack provided by Buffalo Springfield’s “For What It’s Worth” matches up seamlessly.
Like so many other shares online of this ride, it’s titled “the best mountain bike video of all time.”
The entire film comes from Teton Gravity Research, a well-known name in extreme sports videos and Anthill films. The company had this to say in their post with the longer video on YouTube:
“This uninterrupted shot was filmed by the most advanced gyro-stabilized camera system, the GSS C520, mounted to a truck on a custom road built next to a custom trail that took three weeks to build. This true cinematic achievement required perfect coordination between Semenuk, Anthill Films, and TGR with regard to athleticism, planning, timing and logistics.”
Teton Gravity says Semenuk was injured at the ride and only rode the full trail once.

This clip comes from the hills of Cambria, California. That’s a small seaside town in Central California in San Luis Obispo County.
